Citizen science is the collaboration of citizens and trained professionals to advance scientific knowledge. The most common method is through data collection, but citizen scientists can also engage in data analysis or even the development of research studies. Participating in citizen science increases overall environmental awareness and can lead to increased support for conservation efforts. Portage Park District has both formal and informal opportunities for you to participate as a citizen scientist in our parks and the local community. Join us to learn how you can be involved!
