Ravenna, OH - The Portage Park District Foundation (PPDF) and the Madonio Family Animal Welfare Trust (MFAWT) are hosting a public party at Towner’s Woods to celebrate dogs and friends of dogs on May 11 from noon until 2:00 p.m.
“We are so thrilled with the turn out for the Perfect Pooch Contest that we decided to have an event to celebrate the dogs and those who have supported the parks and the MFAWT. We also want to acknowledge the winners publicly,” said Sally Kandel, president of the PPDF.
The PERFECT POOCH OF PORTAGE contest is an online photo contest sponsored by PPDF and MFAWT that runs through May 8, 2019. The winners will be determined when voting stops at 11:59:59 p.m. on May 8.
Thirsty Dog, the brew sponsor for the contest, will bring a sampling of their craft beers for purchase and root beer will be offered to kids for free. A local food truck, Roll Call, will have food available for purchase as well.
All net proceeds from this party will go to the PPDF and the MFAWT. The PPDF will use the funds to start a dedicated fund for trail development for its parks. MFAWT will use the funds for its mission of supporting local animal groups and providing food to pets of folks receiving Meals in Motion.
“The contest has been great fun to be part of and we are looking forward to an exciting finish on May 8. The competition has been fierce and we appreciate how our community has turned out for this event and supported our causes,” said Chas Madonio, founder of the MFAWT.
It’s still not too late to either enter the contest or vote for a dog. For details about the contest, please visit https://www.gogophotocontest.com/perfectpoochofportage. For any questions, please contact Sally Kandel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
