Owlet Adventures: Groundhog Day

Inspired by our Portage Park District mascot, Owlbert, this series of programming is designed for our younger park patrons (PreK-elementary). Owlbert's Owlet Adventures will feature engaging activities and a hike length that's appropriate for smaller legs!
Groundhogs are found in all 88 Ohio counties and are frequent inhabitants of fields, forests and yards! They even have an entire DAY devoted to them! Groundhog Day has a rich history that speaks to the triumph of spring over winter. It is approximately halfway between the winter and spring equinox. Participants will learn about this large rodent and its cool adaptations. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This program will be held outside, so please dress for the weather.
