The Portage County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a volunteer group that supports local public health and emergency medical services during emergency and non-emergency events. Who can volunteer? Any citizen who is 18 years of age or older may join the MRC. A wide range of medical professionals such as physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, mental health professionals, EMTs, and others are needed to provide direct medical services. We are looking for medical and healthcare professionals with an active license from all health occupations, including those who are practicing, retiring, or non-practicing. A large number of non-medical volunteers are also needed to provide support services from clerical to computer support to triage, transportation, and communications. We need support volunteers who do not perform medical care, but who are essential in an emergency healthcare response.
For any questions, please contact the MRC Coordinator, Robert Walker, at 330-296-9919, ext. 112 or via email at [email protected].
