Did you know that every two minutes, a child is treated in an emergency room for an unintentional bicycle-related incident? More children ages 5 to 14 are seen in emergency rooms for biking related-injuries than any other sport. Wearing a helmet every time you ride a bike is a proven way to avoid injuries.
The Put a Lid On It Campaign provides bicycle helmets to the Portage County Health District to be distributed to kids throughout the county.
