Portage County Health Department

The mission of the Portage County Medical Reserve Corps is to assist local response efforts during a public health emergency or large-scale event. Through a coordinated Volunteer Reception Center, health professionals (licensed and non-licensed) and community volunteers will come together to assist the Portage County Health Department with various assigned tasks. Together we can all make a difference.

At the end of the December 2012 there were 207,150 volunteers enrolled in 980 MRC
units in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Palau, American Samoa,
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Puerto Rico
