The Portage
County 2008 Bicentennial Committee Legacy Project
- The Portage County 2008 Bicentennial Committee Legacy
Project hopes to provide a snapshot of residents’ lives at this
time in
our history. It provides a unique opportunity for you to share
your experiences and thoughts concerning life in your community.
Please include your memories and impressions of the texture of
your stories – the people, the sounds, the sights, and the
feelings.
- Your responses will be archived permanently in a
yet-to-be-determined public location in Portage County. In
future years, those who wish to do so, will be able to add to
their family records.
- We greatly appreciate your participation in this exciting
project. For questions or more information, please call Sharon
Alexander at 330-296-6432.
Legacy Project Instructions
- Please be sure to include your name and the name of your
community. This is important so that your responses can be
archived in the correct binder.
- Read through the questions and begin with the ones that seem
the most interesting and fun to you. Then, feel free to answer
the questions by hand on 8.5” x 11” paper, use your computer to
respond to the questions, or go to the Bicentennial website and
download the questionnaire posted there. Your responses can be
as short or as long as you choose. When you write your stories,
it’s always fun and more interesting if you include as many
details as you can recall. This makes a great family activity
with family members asking each other the questions, and perhaps
telling your stories as a group.
